Of all the great oratorios, Handel’s Messiah must surely be one of the most popular, having received performances every year since its first Dublin performance in 1742. Fordingbridge Choral Society are delighted to revisit this work after our hugely successful performance in Ringwood in 2019.
On November 30th Fordingbridge Choral Society are joined by a highly accomplished quartet of soloists, all of whom sing internationally and have appeared in major concert halls throughout the UK; and additionally, we are joined by the professional players of the Edwards Ensemble.
Soprano Amy Carson began her career as a founding girl chorister at Salisbury Cathedral, and has appeared at many prestigious venues at Versailles, Berlin Philharmonie, Carnegie Hall, Barbican, and BBC Proms, and sings with many of the UKs leading ensembles, also as soloist with The Sixteen, Monteverdi Choir and others.
Contralto Charlotte Tetley studied at the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, and has gone on to sing with Glyndebourne Festival Opera, and performing regularly with the Orchestra of St. John’s with maestro John Lubbock.
