The Singing Workshop is at the Victoria Rooms, 26 Bridge Street, Fordingbridge SP6 1AH. There is plentiful parking only a couple of minutes walk away at the Ringwood Road Pay and Display car park opposite the Fordingbridge Recreation Ground
Our Singing Workshop
The plan for the day is as follows:
10.00-10.30 arrival/registration
10.30-13.00 session 1 with 30 minute break
13.00-14.00 Lunch, please bring your own. There are local shops nearby as an alternative. The Victoria Rooms is next to the Fordingbridge Recreation Area on the banks of the River Avon if the weather is sunny.
14.00-16.00 session 2 with shorter break
Morning coffee / afternoon tea and cake will be provided.
Your Vocal Coach for the Day – Suzzie Vango
Suzzie’s successful career has taken her all over the UK and internationally, working with professional and amateur organisations, singers and choirs of all ages. Suzzie is an Associate Artist at the University of Warwick and co-author of the award winning warm-up book ‘How to make your choir sound awesome’.
Suzzie founded Papagena, the UK’s flagship female vocal ensemble with Sarah Tenant-Flowers in 2015, and has toured extensively in the UK, appearing at numerous music festivals and on BBC Radio 3 and 4.
Suzzie is a regular conductor for the National Childrens Choir of Great Britain and the University of Warwick Chamber Choir, and guest conductor for, among others, London Voices, National Youth Choir of Great Britain, Ex Cathedra Chamber Choir.
As a vocal coach she is an established singing teacher and qualified vocal health first aider, working as a freelance coach for choirs across the UK and abroad. You can find out more about Suzzie on her website https://suzzievango.com.
In the morning we will using simple rounds, part songs and vocal warm ups concentrating on vowels, intonation, diction, articulation and phrasing. In the afternoon, we will be singing excerpts from Mozart’s Requiem.
